LIFEJACKETS SAVE LIVES
(SAUBLE BEACH, ON.)
– Two persons from Toronto
and a third from Belwood were rescued from the
waters of Lake Huron off Saugeen First Nation Monday afternoon. The three
persons were sailing on a catamaran about 1.5 km from shore when the
boat capsized. A person onshore saw the boat overturned and called in
the emergency. A Coast Guard boat out of Southampton
attended and found the three, clinging to the vessel, wearing their
lifejackets. None of the persons in the water required medical
attention. If the trio were not wearing their lifejackets the outcome
may have been different. Lifejackets will significantly increase your
chances of survival if you find yourself in the water.
BE SAFE AND WEAR IT.
