RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES

 

 

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON.) –  On August 27 at approximately 11:15pm, an SD&G OPP officer was conducting a RIDE program in village of Chesterville in North Dundas Township.

 

The officer had occasion to stop one male driver who approached the RIDE check.  The officer could detect an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the breath of the male. 

 

Brock Marcellus, 34 years old from Chesterville, was arrested and faces charges of:

Exceed 80mgs of blood alcohol content

 

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on September 7th to answer to the charge.

 

 

IMPAIRED CHARGES LAID

 

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON.)- On August 28 at approximately 2:00am, an SD&G OPP officer was conducting community patrol on River Road in North Dundas Township when he observed a motor vehicle to be in violation of a highway traffic act.

 

The officer conducted a vehicle stop and upon talking to the male driver, the officer detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the males breath. 

 

Rodney Servage, 43 who resides in North Dundas Township was arrested and faces charges of:

Impaired operation of motor vehicle

Exceed 80mgs of blood alcohol content

 

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on October 5th to answer to the charges.

 

 

 

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON.)-  On August 28 at approximately 3:02am, SD&G OPP officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint south bound on Bank St in Ottawa, travelling into North Dundas Township.  An officer observed the vehicle in question and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon the officer speaking with the male driver, the officer detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the males breath. 

 

Wayne MacDonald, 65 years old from Ottawa, Ontario, was arrested and faces charges of:

Impaired operation of motor vehicle

Exceed 80mgs of blood alcohol content

 

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on September 7 to answer to the charges.

 

 

CHARGES LAID

 

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON)-  On August 29 at approximately 2:28am, an SD&G officer was patrolling River road in North Dundas Township when he observed two males walkin  on the roadway. 

 

A conversation ensued and the officer continued down the road.  A short time later, the officer was waved down by complainants who advised the officer that the males he spoke with earlier attempted to steal a 4 wheeler ATV from his garage.

 

The officer intercepted the 2 males again who were arrested and charged with criminal code offences.

 

Brett Winterburn, 19 years old from North Dundas Ontario faces charges of:

Theft under $5000.00

 

Chase Young, 19 years old from North Dundas, Ontario faces charges of:

Theft under $5000.00

 

Both male accused were each released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on November 2nd to answer to the charge.

MALE CHARGED IN DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

 

 

(SOUTH STORMONT, ON.) –On August 24 at approximately 11:00pm, an SD&G OPP officer was dispatched to a domestic dispute, which occurred on Elm St in South Stormont Township.

 

The investigation revealed that a male and female who have been co-habitating at this residence for over a year began a verbal confrontation, which escalated to a physical altercation which resulted in the female exiting the residence for help. 

 

The 26 year old male was arrested and faces charges of:

 

Assault cause bodily harm

 

The male was released on a Promise to Appear in Cornwall Criminal Court on September 21st to answer to the charge.

 

 

SPEEDING STOP LEADS TO CDSA CHARGES

 

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON.)-   On August 25th at approximately 12:50am, an SD&G OPP officer was conducting radar enforcement on Hwy 401 in South Dundas County when he observed a Nissan Maxima travelling at 144km/h in the posted 100km/h zone.

 

The officer initiated a traffic stop for speeding and found the 3 occupants (2 males/ 1 female) revealing open alcohol within the vehicle.  Subsequently, a search of the vehicle was conducted and officers found a baggie full of a leafy substance, suspected to be marijuana. The following charges were laid under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act:

 

Jennine Ahad, 29 years old female from Hamilton area was arrested and faces the charge of:

 

Possession for the purpose Schedule ll under 3kg

 

Jackie Blackmon, 31 year old male from Hamilton area was arrested and faces the charge of:

 

Possession for the purpose Schedule ll under 3kg

 

Keith Bassett, 35 year old male from Nanticoke, Ontario was arrested and faces the charge of:

 

Possession for the purpose Schedule ll under 3kg

 

 

All 3 accused individuals were released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on October 5 to answer to each of their charges.

COUNTERFEIT CHARGES LAID

 

 

(SOUTH DUNDAS, ON.) – On August 23 at approximately 10:37am, an SD&G OPP officer was dispatched to an address on Main St. in village of Morrisburg in South Dundas Township for an alleged counterfeit occurrence.

 

The investigation revealed that a lone male entered a bank institution and attempted to complete a transaction valued at $150.00 with 3 $50.00 American bills which are suspected to be counterfeit.  

 

The male, William Moore, 54 years of age from Morrisburg area was arrested and faces charges of:

 

Possession of Counterfeit money

Uttering Counterfeit money

 

 

Moore was released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on October 5th to answer to the charges.

 

 

 

CHARGES LAID

 

(SOUTH STORMONT, ON.)-  On August 24 at approximately 3:20am, an SD&G OPP officer was dispatched to a traffic complaint on Hwy 401 in South Stormont Township where a male was reported to be riding a bicycle on the highway.

 

The investigation revealed that the male was earlier in the year charged in the Province of Quebec and was on conditions not to leave the province.

 

The male was subsequently arrested and faces charges of:

 

Fail to Comply

 

The male was held in custody to attend a bail hearing at Cornwall Criminal Court August 24th.
