Safety tip for the week

Spring is just around the corner and with that the animals are waking up and walking onto the highways!  This week alone there were ten car versus wild animal motor vehicle collisions.  Motorists are reminded to pay careful attention to the ditches as the deer and moose are blending quite well with their background.  As well during the evening hours reducing your speed could assist in avoiding a motor vehicle collision with an animal.  There seems to be no specific trend as to where these occurrences are taking place however, adhere to the warnings posted by the Ministry of Transportation advising deer or moose areas.
