DRUG ARRESTS IN KINGSVILLE

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) On Thursday February 4th, 2010 members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau - Drug Enforcement Unit, Essex County OPP, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit executed a warrant in the 2000 block of Road 4 East in Kingsville.

 

At 2:30 pm police entered the residence and located three males and a small marihuana grow operation within the residence.

 

As a result of the investigation 3 people have been arrested and charged with:

Scott CRITCHLOW 37 yrs from Kingsville has been charged with 4 counts of Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams; Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg, and Production Schedule II (cannabis marihuana)

Timothy DIOTTE 44 yrs from Kingsville has been charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance, with 4 counts of Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams; Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg, and Production Schedule II (cannabis marihuana)

Gerald DESANTI 53 yrs from Kingsville has been charged with 3 counts of Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30 grams; Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg, and Production Schedule II (cannabis marihuana

Seized items:

16 mature marihuana plants
15 immature marihuana plants
10 grams of Marihuana
8 marihuana cigarettes
.3 grams of hash
94 5mg Oxycodone

Critchlow was held for a bail hearing, Diotte, and Desanti were released on a promise to appear with a March 15th, 2010 court date in Windsor Courts.  The total street value of the drugs seized is in excess $15, 400.  Investigation is on-going.

WEEKEND OCCURRENCES

 

 

 

 

(ESSEX, ON) On Friday February 5th, 2010 around 1:00 am   Essex OPP conducted a R.I.D.E program at Queen St., and Center St. in Harrow.  Police checked 42 vehicles with 100% compliance.

On Friday February 6th, 2010 around 10:00 am Essex OPP responded to a theft of a bank debit card.  Police advised that the complainant attempted to pay fro gas with bank card and it was denied.  The bank was contacted ant the complaint was advised that the card had been copied or skimmed and the card had been cancelled.  Police remind citizens to be cautious and alert when using debit cards.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex County OPP Crime Unit at 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

(KINGSVILLE, ON) On Friday February 5th, 2010 around 4:30 pm Kingsville OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Heritage Rd.  Police advised that a female driver (22) from Kingsville driving a 1997 Ford Escort struck a gas meter attached to a residence.  There was no one home at the time of the collision and Police were able to shut off the gas, and union gas attended the scene.  The driver was charged with careless driving.

On Saturday February 6th, 2010 around 8:00 pm Kingsville OPP responded to a residential break and enter in the 90 block of McCallum Drive.  Police advised that unknown suspect(s) smashed the patio door and stole a quantity of cash and jewellery. (LAKESHORE, ON) On Thursday February 5th, 2010 around 12:00 pm Lakeshore OPP responded to a business break and enter in the 400 block of Rourke Line in Lakeshore.  Police advised that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) cut a chain link fence and the padlock and entered a shed. The investigation is still ongoing, and police seized items left behind as evidence. (TECUMSEH, ON) On Saturday February 6th, 2010 around 6:00 am Tecumseh OPP responded to a stolen vehicle in the 11800 block of Tecumseh Rd.  Police advised that the owner of 1995 Chrysler Intrepid parked and locked the vehicle, and sometime overnight unknown suspects stole the vehicle. On Saturday February 6th, 2010 around 1:30 am Tecumseh OPP conducted a R.I.D.E program at Tecumseh Rd. Police checked 80 vehicles, issued 2 roadside screening device tests, and issued one – 7 day suspension notice.

OVERNIGHT OCCURRENCES

 

 

(ESSEX, ON) On Wednesday February 3rd, 2010 around 8:00 am Essex OPP responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in the 900 block of Dunn Rd in Harrow.  Police advised that a vehicle travelling northbound on Dunn Rd slid off the road and struck a row of cedar trees.  Police seized several pieces of the vehicle for evidence, and the vehicle is described as a 1996-1997 dark blue Ford Aerostar minivan.  There were minor damages to the trees.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex OPP at 519-738-3796 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

(KINGSVILLE, ON) On Monday February 1st 2010 around 8:00 Kingsville OPP patrolled the kiss & ride program at Ruthven Public School without incident.

 

(LAKESHORE, ON) On Wednesday February 3rd, 2010 around 9:00 am Lakeshore OPP responded to theft from the 6000 block of County Rd 1 in Lakeshore.  Police advised that sometime overnight unknown suspect (s) stole 3 ATV’s, and 2 computers.  The ATV’s are described as a 2009 Can-Am Black Renegade 800 4X4 valued at

$10, 750.00, a 2009 Can-Am Outlander XT 800R 4X4 valued at $10, 278.00, and a 2005 Bombardier DS 650 X 4X2, valued at $9212.00.  The computer laptops are described as a Compaq 1340, and a Toshiba Terra M-2.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County OPP Crime Unit at 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

CHATHAM -KENT OPP DRUG SEIZURE ON HWY 401

 

 

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On Wednesday February 3rd, 2010 around 1:00 pm Western Region Highway Patrol (WRHP) conducted traffic stop eastbound Hwy 401 at Duart Rd.  Police advised that a 1993 Eagle Talon was following too close to a transport truck and was stopped. Upon further investigation Police observed marihuana in the vehicle, after a search of the occupants, and the motor vehicle, a larger quantity of Cannabis Resin was discovered concealed in the engine compartment of the vehicle.

 

As a result of the investigation 2 people have been arrested and charged with:

Jason DAVIDSON 24 yrs from Standridge East QC CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30grams, CDSA 5(2) Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg, CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada, and HTA 158(1) Follow too closely.

Erik MONETTE 24 yrs from Standridge East QC CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada,

CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30grams, and

CDSA 5(2) Possession for the Purpose Schedule II under 3 kg

All are being held in custody pending release at a bail hearing in a Chatham area court.

(ESSEX, ON) On Tuesday February 2nd, 2010 around 10:00 am Essex OPP responded to a break and enter to a business in the 10 block of Laird Ave in Essex.  Police advised that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) broke a window, entered the business and stole a quantity of alcohol, and an empty cash register. (LAKESHORE, ON) On Tuesday February 2nd, 2010 around 2:30 pm Lakeshore OPP responded to a business break and enter in the 1200 block of County Rd 22.  Police advised that unknown suspect(s) kicked in the side garage door, damaged and melted property.  Essex County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Essex County Crime Unit at 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

(TECUMSEH, ON) On Tuesday February 2nd, 2010 around 11:00 pm Tecumseh OPP responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Northfield Way.  Police advised that the owner of the green 1998 Ford Windstar parked on the road, and then they returned observed damage to the driver’s side door.  The door was dented and scraped with red transfer paint. ESSEX COUNTY OPP CRIME UNIT CATCH TIRE SLASHERS

 

 

(LAKESHORE, ON) On Saturday January 30th, 2010 Lakeshore OPP responded to 5 separate mischief complaints of tires being punctured in the Shoreline Ave. and County Rd 22 vicinity.  Police advised that 7 vehicles and 5 trailers had a total of 29 tires punctured.

 

On Tuesday February 2, 2010 Essex County OPP Crime Unit arrested and charged two male youths (17) from Lakeshore with mischief under $5,000.00.  The youths took responsibility for their actions were released, and referred to the Essex County Diversion Program.

(ESSEX, ON) On Monday February 1st, 2010 around 10:00 pm Essex OPP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Brush Side Rd.  Police attended and observed a red GMC pickup on its roof in the ditch with no driver.  Police conducted a search to locate the driver with negative results. (KINGSVILLE, ON) On Sunday January 31st, 2010 around 2:30 am Kingsville OPP conducted a routine traffic stop at County Rd. 20.  Police advised that the Leamington male (25) class G1 driver was driving while under the influence of alcohol.  The male was arrested and charged with exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content, class G1 licence holder-drive when blood alcohol concentration above zero, class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver, operate a motor vehicle without insurance.  The male was released on a promise to appear with a March 1, 2010 Windsor Court date.

 

(LAKESHORE, ON) On Monday February 1st, 2010 around 6:00 pm Lakeshore OPP responded too a residential break and enter in the 2700 block of County Rd 42. Police advised around 12:00pm a neighbour observed a male with a hammer at the rear door to the residence, and thought he was doing maintenance.  The home owner was not home at the time, and it was at a later time that the owner realized that there was a window that was broken, and that the unknown suspect stole a quantity of frozen meat from the freezers, valued at $500.00.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Essex County OPP Crime Unit at 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

(TECUMSEH, ON) On Monday February 1st, 2010 around 11:00 pm Tecumseh OPP responded to a theft of vehicle in the 13000 block of Little River Blvd.  Police advised that the owner went to move the vehicles in the driveway and realized that the white 1993 Dodge Spirit was stolen, and that the unknown suspect left a grey 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the scene.
