2 Arrested for Drug Offences

Almaguin Highlands OPP with assistance from the OPP Drug
Enforcement Section arrested 2 persons during a traffic stop in Joly Twp. A quantity of suspected Oxycodone pills
were seized along with a small quantity of cash. The total value of the items seized is
approximately $1500.00.
Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the
Purpose of Trafficking are:
Raymond TIMM
age 49 of Strong Twp. Ontario
Michelle DECHAU
age 48 of Strong Twp. Ontario
Both persons are in custody pending a bail hearing on
September 03rd, 2010.

Strong
Township man
arrested
(Magnetawan, ON.)

Almaguin Highlands OPP have arrested and charged a Strong
Township man in relation to an assault that took place in the early morning
hours of Sunday August 22nd in the Town of Magnetawan.
The victim was in a defenceless position when the accused
kicked the victim in the face. The victim was rendered unconscious and
suffered multiple fractures to the bones in his face. He has since been
treated and released from hospital but continues to receive medical treatment
for his injuries.
OPP have charged TYLER CHERSKI (22) of Strong Twp with one
count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Assault Cause Bodily Harm and one
count of Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle.
The accused will appear in court on October 5th
2010.

9 Local Youths Arrested
(Novar, ON.)
–
Almaguin Highlands OPP. with assistance from the North
East Region OPP “Rural and Agricultural Crime Team”, have
arrested 9 youths in the community of Novar.
The youths are accused of 11 different criminal acts committed
in Novar from April 27th to August 12th 2010.
The incidents included thefts of property and vehicles,
trespass at night, damage to property, spray painting of property and a
setting fire to a hydro pole.
All arrested youths were released to the custody of their
parents and are proceeding through the judicial process. The 9 accused can’t be named due to
the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
